Introducing Encore! Service Corps International
Dear Encore! Volunteers,
At the request of Peace Corps and in order to maintain perfect clarity in the public mind about our two organizations, we have changed our name to Encore! Service Corps International (Encore!). Our new name became official July 1. Our new web address is www.encoreservicecorps.org.
Our mission remains the same: to make a difference, again!
Our most important resource will always be you, the hundreds and hundreds of Returned Peace Corps Volunteers and staff who make up our amazingly talented, dedicated talent pool.
We are pleased to announce that Susan Ely has been appointed as the Executive Director, building upon the solid foundation created by our first Executive Director, Maura Fulton. We are especially pleased about Susan's commitment to Encore! As an RPCV and one of the first Encore! volunteers, serving in India last year, she has a unique perspective on what it takes to arrange and implement successful volunteer placements in meaningful projects.
We are actively exploring a number of service opportunities in partnership with international NGOs and other groups. Some of you have volunteered to help in this process, which is proving to be of invaluable assistance to our new organization. We welcome suggestions of sites that would benefit from capacity building experts like you.
